opportunity
Tronics Microsystems emerged from LETI, the internationally renowned electronics research facility, in 1997. Focused on the development of custom, high-value MEMS components, Tronics gained traction in this challenging market by building trust and long-term working relationships with their customers and by delivering reliable results on the most difficult projects.
As Tronics grew, they wished to move beyond a “start-up” image to be recognized as a top-tier strategic MEMS partner. Tronics also realized that no company in its sector had gone beyond rudimentary product-oriented marketing to establish an emotional connection with its customers — and that the first player to do so would have a competitive advantage.
Loomis Group was called upon to develop a new brand identity and communication platform that would evolve Tronics‘ image towards that of an established company with proven ability to deliver advanced MEMS technology — all in support of the company‘s plan for continued growth.
idea
Once we understood their objectives, we surveyed key internal and external audiences to gain understanding of the existing equity in the Tronics brand, and to identify new positioning opportunities. With these insights in mind, we developed a positioning strategy and brand identity built upon the reliability and trust that Tronics was already known for, but with a more established and personal feel. This is reflected in a new tagline that speaks with confidence and presence:
ENVISION MEMS | DELIVER MEMS
execution
With company insights and a new brand strategy in place, we set about designing a corporate look to visually communicate Tronics‘ positioning. This look was extended to virtually every point of contact with their brand: Web site, corporate identity, collateral (business cards, letterhead, etc.), advertising, booth graphics, newsletter, and brochure.
Experienced marketers know how vital strong creative is in positioning a brand. But we also recognize the importance of consistent, proactive communication that goes beyond direct marketing and Web efforts. With this in mind, Loomis Group is currently developing and implementing a fully integrated public relations plan that will convey Tronics‘ messaging through targeted media channels.
influence
“I have been in much larger companies before, and it is not the first time I do this exercise, but this is the best quality result and interfacing I have come across so far.”
- Peter Pfluger, Tronics CEO
